ENIGMA的首脑人物Michael Cretu在1987年Cretu 的和他的朋友 Thissy Thiers, 以及老的组合Moti Special组成了一个新的组合。并于1988年发行了单曲School’s Out和优美的专集《Belle Epoque》。而后又开始了他的隐居生活，直到1990年创建了众所周知的ENIGMA。
